Gearing up for Ridgeville Farmers’ Market 2009 Season

Filed under: Uncategorized — aliwit @ 7:57 pm

Ridgeville is excited to host its third Farmers’ Market season, which will open June 3 and run through the end of September.   We invite you to come out, invite your friends, have a picnic, bring your kids, ride your bike and meet-up with and buy fresh midwestern food, mouth-watering baked goods and delicious coffee; and crafty goods from our vendors.

Returning to market this year is anchor fruit vendor, Lyon’s Fruit Farm, of South Haven, MI. Offering a vast selection of fruits and berries, Lyons also sells asperagus, snap peas, herbs and  flower baskets.

We also welcome new vendors Triple A Farms of St. Anne, IL (vegetables and pre ordered vegetable boxes ); Omer Reese of Wisconsin Artisan Cheese, whose specialty cheeses are smoked with apple wood and flavored with fresh herbs; Songbird Coffee Roasters, a  shade grown single origin coffee roaster and baker; Whimsical Acres, whose main products are  goat’s milk soap, body butters, lip balms, and scrubs, alpaca yarns and fiber from their own alpaca herd, gifts, hypertufa planters with herbs, and  cut flowers; and Soap Sublime, a hand made soap maker who will also offer decorated cigar boxes.

Ride your bike!  On the last Wednesday of each month, The ReCyclery will be on hand to give your bike a quick tune-up, or tell you how you can learn to do it yourself.

  1. Will Red Hen bread be sold again this year? I hope so!

  2. No. Red Hen won’t be back this year. However, Hirise Baking Company will. Comparable to Red Hen, Hirise also sells delicious artisan breads. I highly recommend their pumpernickle/raisen/walnut bread!
